Roulettes Impress Maryborough

Maryborough Airport was a hive of activity yesterday afternoon, as thousands of people flocked to see the RAAF Roulettes putting on an impressive performance in the sky.

A massive drawcard was former Maryborough State High School Student Dan Kehoe, who is the Squadron Leader of the Roulettes. Mr Kehoe said that it was great to see the familiar sights of Maryborough, and that he loved his job.

"I was grateful for a big crowd to turn out, I wasn't expecting this many to be honest."

At one point in the air, the planes were so close that they were only around 3 metres apart, which is not an easy task!

"The guys are pretty exhausted," he said. "There are lot of barrel roles, a lot of loops."

The Roulettes left Brisbane yesterday afternoon, and spent the night in Maryborough on their way to Townsville.
